5 Outfits to Try This Spring

Spring is all about being fresh and new! These spring picks are right on target with a variety of patterns, colors, and great versatility for your closet.

From Target to J. Crew, every store in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area has great deals on new springtime trends. Colors such as mint, yellow, fuchsia, and peach were all on the runways for the spring fashion shows this year, so here are a few ideas on how to capture high-fashion style with everyday life. Keep reading to see the outfits you need.

1. The first outfit has mint jeans and a chevron top with espadrille wedges that are easy to walk in and always a cute add-on. Keeping the patterned top in neutral colors will help tone down the brighter mint jeans. Add a couple bangles and a sleek clutch to top off the ensemble.

2. This outfit is for the fierce at heart! A patterned pant is a great way to add some spice to your outfit. To keep the sleek pants as the focus of the outfit, try to keep the other parts more basic, such as the white top and simple (but colorful!) flats.

3. Outfit three is so much fun! A cute skater dress works on any shape for any age! This dress is a classic cut, so I would go for a fun color or smaller pattern to keep it fresh. Pair this simple dress with a neutral pair of strappy sandals, and you’ll have that spring in your step.

4. Outfit number 4 is for the weekender! Boyfriend jeans are still in the trending bucket, and I am so thankful for that! With a relaxed fit and toned-down feel, these jeans with a polka dot sweater and some flats will still make you feel pulled together. — My favorite!

5. Finally, this is my must-have for spring: a classically cut, short trench in a bright color. A trench automatically pulls in your waist with its simple belt, and it skims your hips, creating that hourglass shape. Not to mention that you could have anything underneath it, and it would still look classic!

Styling Tip: With such bright colors and bold patterns, sometimes it can be overwhelming to pick out the right pieces for an outfit.  I always dress in 3s; Trendy piece (chevron top in outfit 1), Anchor (basic jeans in outfit 4) and a neutral shoe (simple, pink flats in outfit 2).

Spring is a great time to clear out your closet and prepare for the upcoming warmer months. With these tips and tricks, your closet will never fail you. Patterns and bright colors mixed with simple basics will keep you fresh and fashion forward.
