Today's Woman Gives Back: See Our Story
This holiday season, our Today's Woman team decided to do a little giving back. As we were in the midst of an enthralling meeting held at Workshop in Butchertown, we took a break from our brainstorming to test out our carpenter skills. Yes, we used power tools for this one!
If you think a group of women don't have all it takes to drill wood, hula hoop and walk around blindfolded...you'd be surprised! Co-owners Stephanie Ringer and Jenness Bunn helped us learn some team-building skills while we gave back to a family in need of some holiday cheer.
Through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program here in Louisville, Stephanie and Jenness met a young girl named Haley, who was living with her mother and three siblings. Due to an accident and some other hardships, the family is with little means and had no beds for the children to sleep on.
Thanks to the creative owners of Workshop, our Today's Woman team was able to build a bed and supply a mattress along with bedding and some other small items for Haley. Due to the services Workshop provides, eventually all four children in Haley's family will have a bed built just for them before the holidays.
