She Did It!

Our July cover model Madelyn Blue made it to the finish line in the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run just a few days ago. We're proud of her huge accomplishment!

She came in 286th place and finished in 29 hours and 42 minutes of continuous racing. The race covered a total of 18,000 feet in elevation, and though it wasn't easy, Madelyn proved she was up for the challenge.

Madelyn, who teaches at St. Francis School in Goshen, has already run in 32 marathons and hasn't skipped a beat. She ran in the Boston Marathon four times and was one of 400 runners in the Western States Endurance Run out of 2,500 applicants. Next, Madelyn will be training for qualifications for the Olympic National Triathlon on August 9 in Milwaukee.

From the editors: Our printed issue of Today's Woman says that Madelyn is a single mother, however, she is not a mother at all — though as a teacher, she probably feels like it sometimes. Her students created lots of artwork in support of her big challenge! We are very sorry for the mistake and wish Madelyn the best as she pursues her next challenge next month.
