Behind the Bag with Designer Patricia Nash

Designer Patricia Nash recently stopped by Louisville to meet fans at Macy's at Oxmoor and talk about her fabulous line of hand-crafted leather handbags. "I've been designing bags and working with other brands for almost all of my adult life. I started designing my own line about five years ago. I wanted to do something that was really special. I love an appreciation for old world craftsmanship and old Italian leather." 



Patricia, who is originally from Minnesota, resides in Knoxville, TN where she has her only storefront where she does her design and other charitable events. Patricia also loves to travel. "I travel a lot. My personal life and design overlap because I draw inspiration from my personal experiences." For example, the logo for her brand, she designed on a napkin in a cafe in Italy.

Patricia's bags all have a sense of history to them. They have unique charm and character and the little details speak volumes about how the bags are made. Patricia says she drew a lot of inspiration from a train museum in Bologna, Italy for the hardware detail on many of her bags. She has all different shapes and sizes including travel bags, throw-on-and-go bags, totes and more. You can find more of her designs at Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillard's, and Von Maur.
