Thanksgiving is just around the corner and whether you're doing the main dish, the sides, or the sweets, we're giving you some of our favorite recipes for your Thanksgiving needs. We've helped you by making it easy with our Thanksgiving Tutorial in our current issue, but here are some extra recipes to try to impress your friends and family.
Turkey Gravy
Begin by melting 4 Tbls of butter in a large sauté pan.
Sauté ½ cup onion, ½ cup celery and 2 cups chopped mushrooms until the vegetables are thoroughly softened and onion begins to caramelize.
Stir in ¾ cup flour until smooth. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add ½ cup white wine and 4 cups turkey and/or chicken stock. Whisk and stir until smooth and heated to a full boil.
Lower heat and simmer until thickened. Cool slightly and then strain through a colander.
Add chopped herbs as desired and adjust with salt and pepper.
If desired, stir in ½-1 cup ½ and ½ or heavy cream.
