As you might have read in our latest issue, Mary Moss Greenebaum founded the University of Louisville Kentucky Author Forum (KAF) nearly 20 years ago and has since made quite a name for herself. You can read the full story here, but check out some behind the interview facts about Mary!
- Mary was able to set the stage for KAF through Owsley Brown and his principal communications staff person Lois Mateus; the first president of The Kentucky Center, Marlow Burt; and Laura Frazier of the design firm Bittners.
- The team included WFPL and Keith Runyan, who at the time was the bBook eEditor for the Courier-Journal. Bittners provided the set design that is now the standard for each session.
- Audience attendance continues to grow, often requiring an overflow location at The Kentucky Center. The authors go into the overflow space to interact with those who can’t get into the Baumhard Theatre. “We want everyone there who is able to come,” Mary says. “The nature of the events are highly varied. Nobody gets turned away. We try to be meticulous in dealing with students, professors, and the local audience.”
