By Gioia Patton

The Arts Insider has two top events you don’t want to miss this month. Keep reading to see which female comedian is coming to Horseshoe Casino and who’s in the group of five comedy legends coming to the Yum! Center.

Kathy Griffin at Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino
It’s been three and a half years since comedian Kathy Griffin dished out pop culture anecdotes in the Kentuckiana area. Now she’s back…with her Like A Boss tour. Griffin’s “self-diagnosed, stand-up comedy disorder” won her two Emmy Awards for her hit Bravo reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. She also garnered a New York Times Bestseller with the 2009 release of her autobiography, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin. Last year her album Calm Down Gurrl won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album at the 56th Grammy Awards, making the fearless redhead only the third woman to have won the award after Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg.

Griffin also holds the record for the highest number of specials recorded by a comedian for any network: 16, for the Bravo network. And in 2011, she also became the first comedian to have four televised specials in a year.
