If you would rather have flowers in your hair than diamonds around your neck, then this post is for you. If you aren’t familiar, the Boho-chic look is everywhere right now and is perfect for summer.
The Boho (or Bohemian) look is a style of female fashion that draws inspiration from hippie and gypsy influences. The trend has been around for a few years but has really taken off this season. Popular influencers of the “little-bit hippie-ish” movement can be accredited to actors Sienna Miller, Mischa Barton, Zoe Kravitz, Vanessa Hudgens, and model Kate Moss as well as Nicole Richie and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. If you kept up with the Coachella festival looks, you’ll know what we’re talking about.
What makes the Boho movement inspirational for so many women is that it focuses on looking natural and drawing out your individuality while staying modernly stylish. It also gives a romantic feel with its strong appreciation for natural beauty, embracing all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Here are a few tips on how to achieve this look.
Layer up on clothes and jewelry. Keep it feminine by mixing oversized and tailored/fitted clothes. For example, if you’re wearing an oversized sweater or tunic top, add a pair of straight or slim-fit jeans to balance out the look. Also, wearing a fitted top is best with loose-fitting boyfriend jeans. Be sure not to wear anything that is larger than your body frame. You want to look whimsical and comfortable but also stylish. Layer up on jewelry too. Wear multiple necklaces both long and short, and pile on the bracelets for an “arm party” look.

Mix and match prints. Don’t get too crazy here! Think earthy tones, floral, paisley, tie-dye, and Aztec-inspired prints. Look for crocheted pieces and gauzy fabrics for an airy and organic feel.

Embrace flowy maxi dresses or off-the-shoulder tops with flowy sleeves. Opt for a soft, romantic feel with light, flowing maxi dresses or skirts. Look for tops that bare your shoulders or have blousy sleeves to create an effortless and earthy look. Fashion inspired by the ‘70s is the direction to look in for flares and flows.

Add strappy sandals and a wide-brimmed hat. Sandals in the summer are easy, comfortable and go with everything. Look for strappy leather sandals and anything with tassels or ties in browns and other earth tones to complete your Boho look. A wide-brimmed hat is perfect for shading the sun out of your face and off your bare shoulders. It’s a piece that makes a statement and draws attention to your effortless style.
