I can barely contain my excitement for fall and the fashion that comes with it. The layering, the warm colors, the booties, oh my! I am also a sucker for great outerwear. I love coats and jackets – they instantly make a cool weather outfit twice as nice. But, as we know, outerwear can be pricey, so I decided to go on a style hunt to find the best fall trend looks for less.
Trends to spot and shop for this season:
Shearling. It’s a fluffy, shaggy material that can be fancy, casual, or anywhere in between – even look for this in scarves.
Minimalist with added flair. A good, quality minimalist jacket is a key item for the cooler months. It offers a sleek look with endless opportunities. This season, look for a clean, classic coat with a little flair such as fringe or unique edges, lace-up details, etc.
The cropped peacoat. Like a traditional peacoat, this season is all about the shorter styles. Instead of the classic fit with a slight shape, opt for a cropped style that is more boxy-fitting. Dark hues such as navy are everywhere this year.
Camel colored leather. For fall, there is little that can beat that classic, rich hue of camel. Look for a leather jacket in a different style, such as a new twist on the beige trench or something more fitted with an A-line shape.
