You might know him as the guitar and trumpet player for the Louisville Crashers and as the store manager of Mom's Music, but we know Howard Gillti as the guy who saved our Most Admired Woman event when he loaned us a sound system at the very last minute!
How long have you been doing this job?
“I’ve been with Mom’s Music for 16 years and have been playing for 25. The band has been together for five years now.”
What do you love most about your job?
“I love helping people have music throughout their lifetime. I’m lucky; I get to work in what I love.”
What else do you do for fun? Hobbies?
“My main thing for fun is I get to play in the band- that’s my life, my hobby.”
What are you involved in in the community?
“Each member is involved in some organization. We use our music to help out. Our band does a lot with Blessings in a Backpack and Dare to Care. We also raised over $65,000 for the Red Cross with the tornado relief last year in Indiana.”
Describe your personality:
“I’m outgoing and I just love being around people and sharing my knowledge of music.”
A real man is… “someone who shows up when they say they’re going to, follows through and has a smile on their face.”
What do you love about Louisville?
“It’s a big small town and people still support small businesses here.”
