Loving Layers
As winter showers us with snow and cold weather, I am always looking to layers! From weekend wear to working wear, I always have at least two layers on. One of the most important parts of layers is understanding the thickness and textures of your pieces.
Button-up under a sweater? Make sure that the sweater is pretty thin – or else you will probably get some bulge in not-so-sweet places.
My favorite pieces to layer are jackets. I love a good tweed jacket or blazer. On a Monday, I can get away with a button-up, slim sweater, and my favorite tweed jacket. On a Saturday, I love to throw on a thin, long-sleeve T-shirt and my favorite comfy sweater (with the additional infinity scarf).
Layering is also a great opportunity to wear some pieces year-round! For example, my green cargo jacket: In summertime, I’ll throw it on with a cute floral dress, but this time of year, I love to use it as a waist-defining outer layer over a bulkier sweater and some skinny jeans.
Keep patterns and colors common, and layer up!
