Derby Fashion: Spring dress trends
Spring dresses have been in the stores for months now, and I cannot wait to dig in and find some looks for the Derby festivities! A major trend we are seeing this year is pastels. I love pastel colors for spring; they are fresh, feminine and look great with several different skin colors.
Another trend to watch for is cutouts. Just a few symmetrical cutouts can create a little bit of sexiness on a dress without going overboard. Try to keep the neckline high and the hemline longer to balance out sexy and sophisticated.
Florals are a great way to add that extra jazz to a great, creative Derby or Oaks outfit. Springtime is all about floral, so add them to your classically cut Derby dress and you are set!
Finally, a trend that is hanging around this year are hi-lows. This refers to a hemline being shorter in the front and longer in the back. I love these types of dresses and tops! You can find them in almost every department store. They also look beautiful in a lighter fabric, which is great for a hot May day at the races!
