Before This Girl Boss Goes to Work

By Brittani Dick

If you’ve ever wondered about the definition of the term “girl boss,” look no further. Stephanie Heeb, 29, co-founder and executive director of Executive Concierge, is the epitome of ambition and drive, and her resume absolutely screams girl boss. But even with her undeniable determination, Stephanie admits there are a few battles she’d rather not participate in, like picking out her son’s outfit each morning. “These days, I let him pick out his own clothes — within reason, of course,” she jokes.

It’s Chaotic Before Heather Singleton Goes

By Brittani Dick

Heather Singleton, 36, describes her mornings as “a bit chaotic” with two little ones at home.

“Once I finally coerce the 3-year-old into taking that one last bite, or putting on that one last shoe, we are off to school,” she says. When her 3-year-old and her 9-month-old are hugged, kissed, and dropped off at their respective destinations, Heather heads to one of her favorite stops of the day — Starbucks.

Before Whitney Adkins Goes to the Theatre

By Brittani Dick

Whitney Adkins, 32, is the director of marketing for StageOne Family Theatre on Main Street. To ensure her motor runs efficiently throughout the day, Whitney enjoys a warm, decadent Caramella latte from Heine Brothers before she heads into work. “I usually grab one from the Main Street location,” she says.

Before She Goes to The Highlands — When life gives you lemons, make lemon water

By Brittani Dick

Adriena Dame lives by this simple, yet highly detoxifying and invigorating habit, having a glass upon waking each morning and one right before she goes to bed each night. “Ultimately, the act of drinking lemon water is one of many simple daily practices that give rise to my gratitude for having this complex human experience, and for all of the love, joy, and laughter that contributes to the sacred nature of this journey here on earth,” she says.

Before She Goes Running

By Megan M. Seckman

Photos by Sunni Wigginton

Each morning she rises at 4:15, drinks coffee, eats a breakfast of champions, and walks her dogs. She throws on whichever shorts and athletic shirts present themselves in the predawn light of her Highlands home and laces up her Reebok Nano tennis shoes. Then she makes her way to the still-dark and quiet location where she will push and drill and support a group of women to exert every ounce of energy possible before the sun even shows its face.

Her name is Camille Moseley, but you can call her “Coach.” She has chosen this life of discipline, but the results are resoundingly clear. It’s in her skin that radiates a healthy glow, the muscle tone of her petite frame, and the smiles on the faces of her happy (yet sweaty) campers.

Mo is the owner of Revelry Boutique Gallery and a member of just about every nonprofit in town geared toward art, environmentalism, and Louisvillian pride — Louisville Visual Arts Association, Kentucky Natural Lands Trust, Forecastle, and Louisville Independent Business Association, to name a few. Before She Goes: Pink is Her Neutral

By Megan M. Seckman

Wendy has an evolving wardrobe filled with bright, distinctive clothing. Photo by Sunni Wigginton

Wendy Saladino, professional interior designer at Tassels, is a self-proclaimed Southern girl. When I met her for coffee, she was clad in a periwinkle Kate Spade dress that was covered in a black cat pattern. With her giant pink (like Legally Blonde pink) diamond earrings and a black bow tied around her neck, she was a statement piece herself — nothing like the gray sweaters that surrounded us on that very gray morning.

Before She Goes: She Wears Two Things That Help Her Face Her Day

By Megan M. Seckman

Heather doesn't spend time obsessing over what she'll wear, but she still manages to pull together a great outfit that fits perfectly with her lifestyle.

When you own a business and you’re the mother of a 4-year-old and a newborn, life can get a little tricky. That’s why Heather Molina, founder of Owltree Yoga (a studio that specializes in pre- and post-natal yoga classes) refers to her style right now as “Survival Mode.” We’re not talking camo and combat boots — we’re just talking about making it through the day.
